Quantum Neurology (QN) is a method used by chiropractors to assess the loss of neurological function and to restore it using light therapy and muscle testing. A QN assessment begins with neurological muscle strength tests called Myotome Testing. This is the standard neurological testing taught to every doctor around the world. Traditionally, Myotome Testing is only used to document the severity of damage to muscle nerves. In QN these basic tests and more sophisticated tests are used to restore function and rehabilitate all nerves. At a basic level, the nervous system is composed of four types of nerves; sensory, motor, cranial and organ nerves. |
A single injury, illness or condition may injure one or more of these nerves. A QN doctor identifies the nerves that have been weakened, and then works with the individual to fire them in combinations that strengthen the nervous system. For example, if you’re walking barefoot and step on a thorn. It hurts! The broken skin, fascia and muscles are painful as sensory nerves fire. This causes you to quickly lift your foot as motor nerves react to the message from the sensory nerves. Cranial nerves may be involved as you grimace and cry “ouch!” Since branches of the nerves that supply the bottom of the foot are shared with organs, additional organ nerves may also be affected by this injury.
QN uses light therapy in the form of ultra bright LED/Infrared lights to amplify nerve signals. Light therapy is well documented for the stimulation of mitochondrial ATP (cellular energy) production, lymphocyte activity (cellular detoxification), increased circulation and tissue oxygenation, and decreased inflammation. Each QN session is a series of neurological evaluations and corrections. The corrections last until the nerves are re-injured. Even though most individuals have a lasting correction, severely injured nerves may need to be corrected repeatedly until they can handle the stress of a required activity.
